The City of Menifee’s 2019 fall event lineup is back, starting with the popular Fall Festival on October 26 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Mt. San Jacinto College Menifee Valley Campus (28237 La Piedra Road). This year’s free event continues well-received traditions of the past including the Costume Contests for ages 0-13, pets and families as well as community performances from local Menifee groups, while bringing in new attractions including Trunk or Treating, the “Upside Down” Kids Area and expanded business, craft and food vendor areas! This year’s theme is “Stranger Things” and guests are encouraged to dress for the occasion and immerse themselves in the “Upside Down.” Local non-profits and community groups are invited to participate as part of the “Trunk or Treat Zone.” Applications are free and available online. A special thank you to our partners and sponsors: Mt. San Jacinto College, the Menifee Valley Chamber of Commerce and 101.3 KATY for making this event possible. For additional information visit www.cityofmenifee.us/fallfestival. The second event in the fall event lineup is a brand new event to Menifee, the Dia De Los Muertos “Day of the Dead” Celebration on November 1 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Central Park (30268 Civic Plaza Drive.) The event will offer an educational and cultural experience to residents with activities including live entertainment from Aztec Dancers and a Mariachi Band, traditional treats, a Community Altar and crafts for families. The free event will conclude with a screening of the popular Disney movie “Coco.” There will be a limited amount of specialty food and craft vendors to purchase unique goods and food from. The Community Altar honors those who have passed, and residents are encouraged to bring photos of loved ones and small offerings to be displayed throughout the event. For additional information on the event and some history on the significance of this celebration visit www.cityofmenifee.us/specialevents. Remember to bring chairs/blankets for the movie! “We are passionate about bringing family friendly events to Menifee that celebrate community traditions and bring new exciting elements for our residents,” said Community Services Director, Jonathan Nicks. “The Dia De Los Muertos Celebration is a new event to our line up and we look forward to bringing this experience to Menifee.” For more information on the Fall Festival or Dia De Los Muertos, or to get involved in future special events, contact the Menifee Community Services Department at www.cityofmenifee.us/specialevents or call (951) 723-3880.
