On November 7, 2018, the Menifee City Council unanimously approved Resolution No. 18-739 authorizing and directing the City manager to begin the formation of a municipal (city) police department. The council’s action followed years of careful consideration, an exhaustive feasibility study and robust dialog and feedback from the general public. To view the feasibility study, click here.
City Manager Armando Villa recently announced the addition of former police Chief Dave Brown to his executive staff. As Interim Director of Public Safety, Brown will begin the process of acquiring the necessary facilities, equipment and infrastructure to ensure a successful transition from Sheriff’s Department Contract Services to the Menifee Police Department.
