The City of Menifee will host its local Independence Day Celebration on Saturday June 29 from 4 to 9 p.m. at Wheatfield Park, 30627 Menifee Rd. The event is made possible by local partners: Valley Wide Recreation and Park District, Mt. San Jacinto College and Menifee Union School District. Activities available throughout the day include food and craft vendors, live entertainment, family games, a kids zone ($10 wristband required), a patriotic themed parade, a beer garden and the city’s largest firework display! Event entry is free to the public. This year’s title sponsor, Anderson Chevrolet of Lake Elsinore will be there with vehicles on display in the parade and on the event site near the main stage. Be sure to check out their beautiful vehicles and experience the Anderson Chevrolet difference with non-commissioned sales staff – a unique element in our region! Additional event sponsors the City of Menifee would like to thank for making this event possible include Coldwell Banker, Cricket Wireless and Blackhawk Security. Be sure to visit their booths or watch them in the parade hosted by the Lake Menifee Women’s Club, which will kick off the event at 4 p.m. Sponsors will be joined by over 30 local businesses, organizations and community groups, with room for more! Everyone is welcome and encouraged to participate. For additional information or to complete an application, visit www.lakemenifeewomensclub.org. After you view the parade, stroll through more than 100 food and craft vendors offering a wide variety of unique goods and tasty treats. Guests aged 21 and over can enjoy the beer garden hosted by the Menifee Valley Chamber of Commerce with a wide variety of local craft beers. Guests of all ages can enjoy live entertainment throughout the event, family activities hosted by Rec N Trek and local non-profit vendors, and enjoy the firework display beginning at 9 p.m. Youth can enjoy the Kids Zone for $10 with unlimited access to age appropriate attractions, hosted by Jump N Party! “Independence Day is one of the city’s most anticipated events each year. We are pleased to see it evolving as the community grows and welcomes new elements each year,” said Community Services Director, Jonathan Nicks. “This event is one the whole family can enjoy, watching the parade and fireworks, while celebrating our country’s independence together.” Looking for a unique way to experience the event? There will be a VIP Zone with unobstructed views of the spectacular firework display! Hosted in part by 101.3 KATY, guests will enjoy unlimited s’mores and drinks (soda and water), shaded seating areas, a patriotic giveaway and fun picnic games! Tickets are $15 per person or $40 for a family of 4! Parking will be available at Mt. San Jacinto Community College, and along La Piedra and Menifee Rd. (after the road closure is lifted at approximately 5:15 p.m.). To avoid the road closure on La Piedra and Menifee Rd., follow Menifee Rd. to Woodcrest Lake Dr. or Shoreline Dr. (this route can be accessed through Antelope or Newport Rd.). There will be no access on the following streets to La Piedra from 3 p.m. to approximately 5:15 p.m.: Watermill Lane, Spring Deep Terrace, Shoreline Dr., and Bayport Lane (please note that Bayport Lane to Menifee Rd. will remain closed during the entire event to ensure the safety of the event participants). Due to these closures, please expect increased traffic from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Please note, there is no RV parking on Menifee Rd. between La Piedra and Midsummer Lane. For additional event information, please contact the City of Menifee Community Services Department at 951-723-3880 or www.cityofmenifee.us.
